Brodie Retallick Interview Sneak Peak: Identity

Brodie Identity

Summary:

Brodie grew up in a small town called Amberley which is 45 minutes north of Christchurch with a population of around 1000 people.

His Grandparents on his dad’s side lived in the town and in the same house for 70 years, while his Grandparents on his mum’s side lived 15 minutes down the road at Ashworth Beach, which is actually named after their family farm. One of the things Brodie cherishes the most is going back down to Christchurch at Christmas to see all of his family as they are a very tight knit family. A fond memory on Christmas Day when he was younger is catching up with the family for a Christmas dinner and having a massive game of league afterwards between the cousins and brothers. Every two years they go back down to Christchurch for Christmas and his cousins have started going camping at the same beach they used to when they were younger. This is a tradition that Brodie looks forward to continuing with his family for years to come.
