Brodie Retallick Interview Sneak Peak: Mind

Brodie Mind

Summary:

Being one of the top players in his position for Rugby, Brodie mentions some of the techniques he uses to get him through the less glamorous sides to Rugby.

His outlook on injuries is to look at the challenges in a different way, not just looking down on it but trying to make the best out of every situation! In 2019 right before the Rugby World Cup, he dislocated his shoulder, after finding out this news he went away and had a goal to be the fittest he has ever been before. Brodie couldn’t do weights but he was out there working on his fitness and jumping on that spin bike to reach his goal!

His main strategy that he has always tried to use and think about is that things don’t always go your way and that is life, but what is a positive you can put on a bad outcome and that gives you a target to keep working at so when it does come right you can reap the rewards. This is something that can be transitioned across all areas of life. When something knocks you down or sets you back a bit, what can you do to help put a positive spin on the situation and challenge yourself to do it !
