Controlling your controllables

Controlling the controllables

Summary:

When you hear the words pressure or stress what do you think of?

When Dom asks this to people he typically gets negative words replied back to him, and when something is negative, scary or something that others want to avoid they generally want to run away!

Understanding and managing stress and pressure means that we are able to perceive it in a way that means it is helpful for you to have it in your life to make you a better person, father, employee… generally a better human!

Dom talks us through the below four questions and these are important to reflect on to help you deal with pressure and stress!

  1. How are you perceiving it? Do you see it as something that is helpful?
  2. Do you have a good support network around you to help deal with it?
  3. Do you have some mini mental skills to help you get through it: meditation, exercise the list goes on!
  4. Do you understand yourself and your values and what’s important to you?
