Trading in the hustle mindset to put well-being first

Mind

Summary:

Brooke was your classic overachiever and high-performing young adult! Making the Black Sticks in her early twenties meant that she not only was a talented young player but also a player new to high-performance environments and the demands it has.

During her first year, a range of situations happened.

Excitement for making her ultimate dream come true, yet at the same time constant feeling of doubt!

Absolute devastation after getting injured in her first tour, to total heartbreak after getting home to find out her best friend had passed away!

A LOT to deal with for anyone, let alone a 21-year-old!

So what did she do? Push on. Brooke tried to train harder to get back. She set goals and did everything that her coaches and trainers asked of her! She soon found out though that the hustle mindset she had adopted was actually making her play worse and feel totally burnout! So there was an ultimatum. Do I quit? Or do I get help and figure out the elements off the field that will enhance my game on the field?

That is where her journey with well-being started!
