Summary:

Unable to sleep peacefully in a bed.

Owning only one set of clothes.

Unsure about what the next move is for your family?

To the organisation The Aunties, this is the reality they see within some of New Zealand’s families most affected by family violence and deprivation!

Aunties have been going for 10 years, and Lee has been a part of making crucial changes as an Auntie three months into The Aunties’ existence!

The Aunties look after over 30 families who are at the extreme end of family violence and deprivation, whether it is clothes, or a place to stay, helping them along their journey to create a better situation is what The Aunties is all about!

Lee talks us through a case study and explains to us the situation of case study ‘Kaye’, it’s heartbreaking to hear just a glimpse of the situation of some families in Aotearoa!

Jackie Clarke is the head Aunty that helps organise court appearances for these families to help get them on the right path as well as counselling sessions and therapy, but they also need your help, if you are able to help in any way possible, please click this link to get more information!
