New friends and new communities

Community

Summary:

No community? Try and make one.

At least that is what Brooke has learnt to do!

When Brooke retired she lost that connection with those hockey friends every day, so she has made sure to reach out to others around her with common interests like retired athletes and mothers to help re-establish those connection points!

Brooke also shares that we often love to connect but it’s the hassle of organising the time to meet and ensuring that it works for everyone, but to take the hassle out of it, Brooke shares that she is working on ‘booking in’ the next time she catches up with a friend at the end of their walk or coffee straight away so it’s booked and ready to go for the next time to avoid the hassle of organisation and calendars!
