Summary:

James and his whānau moved to Tauranga from Wellington as his wife got a new job, naturally, this was a big move, and going to a new area can be daunting. James took on the role of a stay-at-home Dad, however, over the years he discovered that he had no one to really call friends.

So his wife made a point that maybe they would have to be the ones to connect groups of friends together and form their own community. James talks about is Wellington there was a family that did all the organizing and now perhaps it was their turn to take over those reigns in Tauranga.

One of the things James and his wife enjoyed doing with friends was having dinner parties, where they bring people together and share stories and kai! So this is what they did, and James shares this experience and the realization that they had from this was that sometimes you might have to be the one to go out build your own community.
